Looking for some school holiday fun? Come spend an action-packed hour with Trick Circus, 2009 winners of the Melbourne Fringe Circus Award, along with a host of hand-picked special guests.
For four days only, the ‘Tricksters’ will toss, turn, twist and tumble for your viewing pleasure.
Roll up for an interactive show where the audience is the star.
Devised and performed by Shannon McGurgan.
Trick Circus is a unique youth-run circus with a strong focus on group communication, initiative, community involvement and performance. Based in the Abbotsford Convent, Melbourne, and incorporated as a not-for-profit association in 2005, Trick Circus provides a means for young people who are passionate about circus to come together, train, create, and perform on a professional level.
This will be Trick Circus’s first appearance at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, after becoming Melbourne Fringe Festival veterans with ‘Real Fraud’ (2004); ‘When I Grow Up’ (2006, ‘Best Family Show’, ‘Best Circus Show’; & the ACAPTA award); and ‘Operation’ (2009, ‘Best Circus Show’). For ‘The Trick Circus Variety Hour’, the team will be bringing together an exciting mix of family friendly acts, including a few brand-new gems, as well as some old favourites.
Shaggles Magic Circus World:
Shaggles performs with his trusty koala Bruce and the famous Argentinean juggler Rod Reguez, but mostly with the audience, who are the real performers in this show.
It really needs everyone in the audience to join Shaggles to help make this extravaganza of juggling, acrobatics, magic and clowing happen!
Both shows suitable for ages 5+ and the whole family.
