Dreams vs. reality in Shakespeare’s notorious curs’ed play. Lives, love and sleep are lost, perceptions are skewered and judgment blinded.

Director Rachel Baring (Phrankly Theatre) has assembled Melbourne’s best young Shakespearean actors to breathe life into this story that lies somewhere in the inexplicable state between sleep and awake.

Hot off the heels of a highly successful season at Auspicious Arts Incubator in the heart of Melbourne’s Art Precinct, prolific Melbourne theatre company Eagle’s Nest Theatre is proud to announce its second major season for 2008. William Shakespeare’s Macbeth & James Adler’s 1984 uplate will be performed at The Open Stage (Carlton) and will tour to over 1,000 students.

Eagle’s Nest is thrilled to combine forces with Phrankly Theatre to enter into Shakespeare’s dark tale set to the theme of insomnia and to place this in concert with Adler’s stage adaptation of Orwell’s terrifying vision of control, repression and torture.
