Celebrating 15 years performing cabaret in London, Paul never fails to deliver with his intimate, often moving, and always very funny evening of entertainment.
He has performed in the world’s premier cabaret venues including The Whoopee Club in London, Don’t Tell Mama in New York and The Supperclub in Rome, and has now set his sights on Melbourne’s home of cabaret – The Butterfly Club.
Paul was hailed a ‘British Cabaret Icon’ by the prestigious Cabaret Hotline Online website on his first visit to New York, and now performs there regularly.
SUBURBAN GLITTER features re-worked pop songs, musical comedy, and some of his own compositions. Paul says the show is homage to the performers who have moulded and inspired him since a young age.
“I love to showcase the best in transatlantic singer / songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Dar Williams and John Meyer, and will also be offering up a dose of jazz and blues after falling in love with Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughan at an early age,” he said.
Equally comfortable belting out a ballsy Bette Midler number as covering the latest Rufus Wainwright hit, Paul’s eclectic love of music makes for a rollercoaster ride. Mixed with comedy patter derived from the greats (Fascinating Aida, Victoria Wood and Tom Lehrer) this makes for an extremely versatile performance.
