Final Call for Auditions for Season 3 - Macbeth
The location is Sunshine, in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. The year is 1973. We’re in a graffitied railway underpass where skinheads live rough, and the violent culture of the street reigns supreme. One man’s ambitions to rule are fuelled by visions, and voices, and his partner’s lust for power.

Audition Applications close at the beginning of May.

Macbeth will be staged as part of a rep. Season in conjunction with the 1984 Up Late (note performers will not be performing in both shows). Both shows will be touring to schools, followed by an in-theatre season at Studio 1, Northcote Town Hall

School Tours: Monday 27th July – Friday 7th Aug  (Day times)
In-theatre season:  Tuesday 11th Aug  –  Saturday 22nd Aug (Matinees and Evening Shows)

Rehearsals will begin on  the 31st of May and will span over an 8 week period, two week nights and a day on the weekend.

The payment is on a profit share basis.

About the show
Macbeth – Directed by Alec Gilbert

The location is Sunshine, in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. The year is 1973. We’re in a graffitied railway underpass where skinheads live rough, and the violent culture of the street reigns supreme.  One man’s ambitions to rule are fuelled by visions, and voices, and his partner’s lust for power.

Such is the strength of William Shakespeare’s language that the tragic tale of Macbeth still resonates with audiences today.  The beauty of his prose, the psychological struggles of his characters, and the urgency of this story, speak directly to a new generation.
