Comprehensive overview of 5 week courses

Introductory course , from  23th Feb, every Monday night from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm
Introductory course, from 28th Feb every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Intermediate course , from  24th Feb, every Tuesday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Advanced course, from  25th Feb, every Wednesday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Fees: $225 per course

Summary

Classes are designed to help students progressively develop their skills and investigate their own personal approach within an affective, constructive environment. Students will explore various acting styles based upon their own particular experimental and emotional range. Areas covered will include character development, sensory exploration, text analysis, physical and vocal expression for film, stage and television.


Class Content
Classes are designed to help students progressively develop their skills and investigate their own personal approach within an affective, constructive environment. Students will explore various acting styles based upon their own particular experimental and emotional range. Areas covered will include character development, sensory exploration, text analysis, physical and vocal expression for film, stage and television.

Monologue and Duologues:
•    Participants may improvise and demonstrate character development through a monologue or present a 'learned' monologue from a play, film or television script.
•    Alternatively, two participants may present a duologue on the same principles.
•    Presentations of Television Commercials
•    Write and direct own pieces.

Scene and Character Developments:
•    Provides opportunities to explore and experiment with scene and character developments
•    Texts are characters to be chosen will be discussed in class as it may depend on the structure of the group and expressed interests

Character Development and Analysis:
This course has been designed to hone participants' skills and insights in understanding the intricacies of various characters - to assess and analyse the inner motives that drive their behaviour. This will enable participants to further the development of their acting technique and/or play or script writing ability.
Participants can experiment with more in-depth character development and their own potential to express different emotions.

Text Analysis:
•    Understanding and exploring the elements that make up plot and sub-plots exploring the hidden agendas and goals of characters
•    Understanding what direction the writer and characters are taking their audience in and why - is this a psychological interplay or a morality drama?

Voice Production:
•    Diaphragmatic breathing, different inflections, character and colour of voice, pronunciation and articulation
•    Developing an appreciation of the importance of breathing and voice techniques.

Teacher
Lindsay Saddington has taught for over twenty years gaining him extensive industry experience. He is a director, producer and scriptwriter of Theatre, Music Videos and Film.
Lindsay has completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and Sociology and a minor in Philosophy and Theatre Arts. Lindsay has devised, developed, co-ordinated and taught drama at educational institutions including Theatre Arts at Victoria College, Toorak Campus (Deakin), community Organizations and Psychiatric Institutions. Lindsay can truly cater for a broad range of individual needs.
