The members of The Ennio Morricone Experience, Patrick Cronin, Graeme Leak, Dan Witton, David Hewitt and Boris Conley, are multi-arts performers with strong backgrounds in theatre, comedy, contemporary dance, film and a plethora of musical styles. They share an interest in new music, sound effects and unusual performance making.
The Ennio Morricone Experience brings to life the Spaghetti Western soundtracks of Italian film composer Ennio Morricone. Think of A Fistful of Dollars, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good the Bad and the Ugly.
The ensemble interprets Morricone's early work from the 60s and 70s - a time when the avant-garde was simmering and experimentation was the order of the day. In performance, the Ennios use a bewildering variety of instruments, objects and sound effects to create a mesmerising and often hilarious soundscape of epic western themes, heroic gunfighter ballads and bungled shoot outs.
