A4 Circus Ensemble
“A park bench, four chairs, hoop, trapeze, costumes and objects selected red and white. Zoe Robbins, Oliver Wellnitz-Smith, Kali Retallack and Thomas Worrell need nothing more to put their magic to work… Magic, controlled, sexy!"(Geneviève Dallaire Montreal)
“Polka dot bikini, bow ties, suspenders, hula-hoops, aerial work including trapeze, carpet spinning, human spinning and umbrellas ahoy; this ensemble of four is young and cute. But don't let that fool you into thinking they don't have the skills - Downpour are certainly teeming with talents. They'll draw you in and make you love them. When I left the theatre, the world seemed more beautiful and poetic…” (Bianca Nutt, Pan Magazine.
Zoe Robbins, cast member of Downpour and founding member of A4, is this years Melbourne Fringe recipient of the ACAPTA Circus Award and will take off to Sydney to spend 2 weeks in November with the North American company Witness Relocation.
In 2011 A4 will begin devising a brand new work along with director Anni Davey at that most special place – Hothouse Theatre’s - A Month in the Country. EOI for this creative development will be called for shortly to all emerging circus performers
